Jonathan Coquet Bio 2024

Jonathan obtained his PhD at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2008 after studying the functions of natural killer T cells with Dale Godfrey. From 2008 until 2013, he completed two postdoctoral research periods at the Netherlands Cancer Institute with Jannie Borst and at the Flemish Institute of Biotechnology with Bart Lambrecht, who both fueled his passion in T cell biology and in allergic diseases. From 2014, he started at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm where he was able to build a group whose primary interest has been to understand the differentiation of Th2 cells in human disease and mouse models of airway inflammation. Recently, he became interested in using microbially-enriched mouse systems to study the role that the microbial environment plays in allergic inflammation. At the start of 2023, Jonathan moved to the University of Copenhagen to take on a new research challenge – to analyse the skin immune landscape to better understanding inflammatory diseases at this surface.
